STEM INTERNSHIPS

STEM is a movement in education where teachers and students understand how the academic disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics impact their world and to prepare them for the workforce of tomorrow.  At South Metro Scholastic Foundation our goal is to create an environment where students have the ability to practice their craft through internships and partnerships with corporations who are entrenched with STEM.

FEEDING PROGRAM

Throughout the school year, students who lack the proper nourishment at home are identified and enrolled in the backpack food program.  This is an initiative that packs a sack of food items for the student to take home during weekends and out of school hours.

CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE

South Metro Scholastic Foundation in partnership with Toys For Tots have participated in many toy drives and toy give aways.  Every holiday, we have had the pleasure to help approximately 500 families during the holidays.

PROJECTS

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

At the beginning of every school year, the foundation conducts a massive back to school drive that includes distributing schools supplies to our most deserving under-served students.  The campaign normally begins around Spring before summer breaks.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Funding a child's education that would allow him/her to reach their best potential is never a small task.  The organization will continue to seek additional funding to support this goal.

PLAYGROUND BUILD OUT

South Metro Scholastic Foundation was successful in leading the playground build at Dobbs Elementary School in Atlanta.   This was funded through a grant from KABOOM and the HUMANA Foundation.   The community game together to build a garden, play area and outside classrooms.
